The Selection Process
Candidates for the Upper Freehold Regional School District’s Teacher of the Year Recognition Award Program will be identified from among teachers nominated according to the process noted below. Nominations may be submitted to the appropriate administrators from Tuesday, February 6th, to Thursday, February 22nd. One recipient will be identified at each school to receive this award. The nomination process is as follows:
1. Candidates may be nominated in one of the following ways:
Nomination by a colleague
Nomination by a parent, student, or community member
2. Letters of nomination should be sent to the appropriate building administrator.

Notification and Selection
Teachers will be notified that they have been nominated on Friday, February 23rd.
Meeting with building T.O.Y. Selection Committee, Monday, February 26th
Nominees will be invited to complete a Professional Summary Sheet and each candidate will be invited to have a conversation with their School Selection Committee.
Each candidate may bring any materials to the Selection Committee Meeting that would help the committee better understand the work of the candidate as it relates to how the candidate has:
Connected people to create community
Contributed to promoting a curriculum with coherence
Contributed to establishing a climate for learning
Contributed to the development of character
C. The selected representative for each school will be announced on Wednesday, February 28th.
