NES Students Celebrate Summer Reading Challenge Goal

NES staff and students have had a wonderful start to the 2015-2016 school year, and today it got even better! We celebrated by hosting a school-wide student assembly announcing top readers for each grade level, students had a chance to participate in a flash mob dance, compete/race in our 70 foot long obstacle course and got to watch me get my long locks cut. If you recall, I agreed to cut my hair and donate it to the organization Locks of Love if our students met our reading challenge, and they certainly did! NES students placed 1st in New Jersey, yes I said 1st and 6th in the WORLD! Congratulations NES–I am so very proud of your reading accomplishments!

A number of important THANK YOU’S are in order and they go to the important people who made today possible…

A very special THANK YOU to…Mrs. Downs, Mrs. Larkin and Mrs. Moore who put all of the fun festivities together for our students today.

A very special THANK YOU to…PTA for providing each of our top readers with a sweet treat and a Scholastic Gift Certificate.

A very special THANK YOU to…Mrs. Ellen Plank-Sheft for providing a reading goodie bag and free bowling card for each student at NES–WOW!

A very special THANK YOU to…Mr. Mark Cusato, from Salon Cusato who volunteered his time today to cut/chop and then style my hair. I love my new look!

Here are a few pictures from the day! Fun times!
