NES Goes Green By Way of Virtual Back Packs…

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Congratulations! This letter hopefully represents one of the last times school notices will be hand- carried by your children this year … or ever!
In an effort to be more environmentally friendly and more efficient and direct with parent communication, we are excited to introduce a trial period of the NES Virtual Back Pack. Beginning Friday, May 30, this new section of the NES website will serve as our primary means of communicating school information like notices, flyers, forms, brochures, etc., which have traditionally been sent home with our students in the form of paper. Our hope is to pilot this new communication system and to get your feedback before implementation in September 2014.
Information on NES Virtual Back Pack will be easy to access and updated twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. By clicking on the new navigation link on the NES website, located at and as indicated in the image below, you can select the date for which you want to get the latest notices and forms.

As a reminder, every Tuesday and Friday you will also receive a direct link to NES Virtual Back Pack via email, so it is important that your contact information on the Parent Portal is up-to-date. In order not to miss out on these notifications, please update your contact information on the Parent Portal under Communication>Realtime Parent Portal or by scrolling to the bottom of the NES page and clicking on Realtime Parent Portal. Once on your portal page, click on “View/Update Contacts.” If you have forgotten your log-on credentials, please email us at, and we will get you up and running in no time.
Lastly, if you foresee any issues with accessing our NES Virtual Back Pack, please contact the NES Main Office at 609-259-7292, x2851, to speak with Ms. Gaum. We can certainly work with you to make other arrangements if needed.
Again, congratulations! This is an exciting time. Opportunities to teach our children the importance of being environmentally sensitive while improving efficiency do not come around often enough. Thanks for your help!
