Each year, as part of our Stand UNited Against Bullying (SUN) initiative, we "kick-off" the year with a SUN Celebration. With the support of the PTA, we have been able to invite a nationally known speaker to come to SBMS and speak to our kids about bullying and what it takes to Stand UNited.

I am excited to invite you to our SUN Celebration on Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 9:00 a.m. in our gym. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Mojo: America's Anti-Bullying Coach.  You may access the following link to find more information about Mr. Mojo's efforts (http://www.nobullyingtour.com/). Mr. Mojo visits schools across the country to fight against bullying. He has been on ABC, FOX, CNN, NBC, USA TODAY and MTV (Made Coach). I have no doubt that his message will be motivating and exciting for our students.

Additionally, just last week, I received a phone call from a TV production company that will be doing a documentary on anti-bullying efforts across our country. They will be following Mr. Mojo for two weeks to highlight him as a positive force in the battle against bullying. As a result, they would like to film his presentation here and speak to us about the wonderful things Stone Bridge is doing with our SUN initiative. I have attached a student release form (Student RELEASE FORM.pdf) that must be filled out by a parent/guardian in order to have your son/daughter filmed as part of the documentary. Please read the release form and have your son/daughter return it to his/her homeroom teacher, if you choose to sign it. If you choose not to sign it, your son/daughter will still be a part of the SUN Celebration, but he/she will not be filmed.

We hope you will join us for this terrific event. Below is an agenda (times estimated) for the SUN Celebration. We hope to see you there!

·       9:00 a.m. - Students Enter / SUN Games (games that lift spirits and promote grade-level enthusiasm.

·       9:30 a.m. - Keynote: Mr. Mojo - Operation Mojo

·       10:15 a.m. - SUN Slide Show (a must see!)

o   Special performances from the Redbird Singers!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions! As always, I appreciate your support!
