Quest for the Cure Week: February 2nd -6th

SBMS Student Council is at it again, and this time, they are raising funds for another great cause, The Jimmy V. Foundation!

Each year, the V Foundation raises funds for cancer research, and as a result of its efforts, those affected by cancer have a sense of hope that there will one day be a cure.

We, Stone Bridge Middle School, will once again support the work of the V Foundation and will continue to join all of those affected in their fight against cancer- we ask you to join us in doing so as well.

As we do each year, the students and staff will participate in a number of activities and events that help to raise money for the cause.  Just last year, we were able to raise $5,242.85.  This year, we have set our goal at $5,500.00, and if I know the students, staff and community members that make up SBMS, I am sure that we will have no problem in meeting our goal!

The Quest for the Cure Week will kick off with the dance on January 30th and our rally on Monday, February 2nd.

If you would like to learn more about the V Foundation, please visit: http://www.jimmyv.org/about-us/our-story/.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Dear Stone Bridge Parents,

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner! Conferences allow for meaningful conversations focused on the most important part of the Stone Bridge family, our students. We look forward to this dialogue in an effort to be partners in the education of our kids.
Conference sign-ups will occur electronically through our website. Parents can either use the link on the SBMS website or “cut and paste” this web address: http://ptcfast.com/schools/_76 . Once you get to this website, a set of directions will help guide you through the process of signing up for each of your child’s teachers. Please note that you must have a working email address to use the system. We will launch the conferences on Wednesday, November 12th at 8:30 a.m.; please be aware that you will not be able to sign up for conferences prior to this date or time.
As a result of the time available for conferences, teacher schedules will fill up quickly. If the teacher that you would like to meet with has no available time to meet during conferences, please email the teacher directly to find another time to have a conference.
Our conference days and times are as follows:
• Monday, November 24th: 1:10 – 3:10 p.m.

In addition to a few activities we have planned, we have invited Dr. Michael Fowlin back to Stone Bridge Middle School as our guest speaker.  When he first visited Stone Bridge five years ago, he shared such a powerful message with our students and had such an impact on them , so we know that you will not be disappointed.  He is a wonderful speaker who connects with our kids and empowers them to stand up against bullying.

We hope you can join us!  Your presence is so important to us; it is with your support that we can provide our students with the skills and confidence needed in order to combat bullying behavior.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact us.  We hope to see you there!

For instance, if your son or daughter has Art on an “A day” and Computers on a “B day” during period 1, you may go to either class. It is up to you.
