Winter Sports Physicals: October 10th

Winter Sports physicals for 6th through 8th grade students will be held at the middle school health office on the following date:
Friday, October 10, 2014
Between the hours of 9:00am until 12:00pm

Students must bring athletic physical forms Part A (completed and signed by a parent) and Part B with them on the day of their scheduled physicals.   Physical forms are available in the Middle School Main office or at the school website www.ufrsd.net.

All students who have their physicals performed by a private physician should have paperwork into the main office by October 7, 2014.   All incomplete forms will be returned for completion.  Please expect processing delays for incomplete paperwork or late submissions. Please note that a physical done here at school will ensure that your student athlete is cleared for all sports during the 2014-15 school year.

All Athletic Paperwork is due by Friday, October 10, 2014.  Students will not be permitted to participate in any winter sport without the completion of all athletic physical paperwork- no exceptions will be made.

For instance, if your son or daughter has Art on an “A day” and Computers on a “B day” during period 1, you may go to either class. It is up to you.

Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students

Please see the message below from Mrs. Carrea, our guidance counselor for 7th and 8th grade.

High School is just around the corner for your eighth grader! It’s never too early to start thinking about the academic direction your child will take. Allentown High School has developed very rigorous academic standards by offering honors courses in English, mathematics, science and social studies. Your child’s performance in eighth grade will impact his/her freshman level classes next year. In some cases, a rating of “Advanced Proficient” on the NJ ASK 8 will be required for honors courses. Information about high school course offerings can be found under “academics” on the high school website (http://www.ufrsd.net/ahs). The high school course selection process will begin in March.

If your child is interested in attending one of the Monmouth County Vocational School District Career Academies such as: Biotechnology High School, Academy of Allied Health and Science, High Technology High School, Communications High School or Marine Academy of Science and Technology, please be aware that the deadline for applications is December 12, 2014. The application process is very competitive and requires attendance at an information session. Students may attend as many information sessions as needed to help with their decision; however, they may only apply to one school. Application procedures are posted and accessible at www.mcvsd.org . If you would like more information regarding the Career Academies or the application process, Mrs. Carrea can be reached at 609-259-7292, extension 5731; email: carreaa@ufrsd.net .
