Attention All SBMS Wrestlers: Please see the information below regarding Sunday’s tournament:
- The Mercer County Tournament is Sunday, January 29th.
- Boys should meet at Stone Bridge by 7:00 am to take the bus to Robbinsville High School.
- The tournament will be a good portion of the day, so please send students in with money; breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase.
- Weigh-ins are at 7:30 am and wrestling begins at 9:00 am.
- Parents are encouraged to attend. Please note that if you would like to take your child home after matches are finished, please send a note into school by Friday morning. Otherwise students will have to take the bus back to school and be picked up there.

Please be aware that sports physicals for 6th through 8th grade students will be held at the middle school health office on the following date: Friday, February 12, 2016, between the hours of 11:15am and 2:15pm. Physicals are by appointment only. Please schedule an appointment by phone with Mrs. Mulryne at: 609-259-7292 Ext. #5102, or email at MulrynJ@ufrsd.net.
Students must bring athletic physical forms Part A (completed and signed by a parent) and Part B to their scheduled physical. Each physical must include a health update form and participation form.
All students who have their physicals performed by a private physician must have paperwork into the main office by February 1, 2016. All incomplete forms will be returned for completion. As a reminder late submissions will result in any of the following: significant processing delays, missing tryouts, and/or loss of participation, so it is extremely important that all paperwork is submitted by the due date.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. Conferences allow for meaningful conversations focused on the most important part of the Stone Bridge family, our students. We look forward to this dialogue in an effort to be partners in the education of our kids.
Conference sign-ups will occur electronically through our website. Parents should access the link via our SBMS website, under News and Alerts. If opening this letter from the Virtual Back Pack, parents can simply click on the following link: http://ptcfast.com/schools/_76
Once you get to the PTC Fast website, a set of directions will help guide you through the process of signing up for each of your child’s teachers. Please note that you must have a working email address to use the system. Parents may begin to sign up for conferences on Wednesday, November 11th at 8:30 a.m.; please be aware that you will not be able to sign up for conferences prior to this date or time.
As a result of the times available for conferences, teacher schedules will fill up quickly. If the teacher that you would like to meet with has no available time to meet during conferences, please email the teacher directly to find another time to have a conference.
Our conference days and times are as follows:
- Monday, November 23rd: 1:10 – 3:10 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 24th: 6:00- 8:00p.m.
- Wednesday, December 2nd: 1:10-3:10 p.m.
- Thursday, December 3rd: 1:10-3:10 p.m.
Each conference with teachers will be 10 minutes.

Sign ups for winter sports will be held in the lunchroom from Tuesday, September 29th to Friday, October 2nd. Any student in grades 6th-8th interested in playing a winter sport must sign up and submit any necessary paperwork.
All updated paperwork must be submitted to Mrs. Hampson in the main office by November 1st. Students who fail to complete all paperwork or to submit it by November 1st may not be eligible to participate in a winter sport.

Excitement is building for the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C., and already the students have been asking many questions. To address those questions, and to begin preparing for the trip, please take a moment to read through the attached forms. They provide a list of guidelines, procedures, and expectations for the 8th grade trip. It is important that all parents and students read and discuss each item listed. As a reminder, the trip is schedule for April 14th and 15th.

**A MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL COUNSELOR’S OFFICE**
High School is just around the corner for your eighth grader! It’s never too early to start thinking about the academic direction your child will take. Allentown High School has developed very rigorous academic standards by offering honors courses in English, mathematics, science and social studies. Your child’s performance in eighth grade will impact his/her freshman level classes next year. Information about high school course offerings can be found under the “Guidance” tab on the high school website (https://sites.google.com/a/ufrsd.net/ahs/home/guidance-department/course-selection-guide ). The high school course selection process will begin in March.
If your child is interested in attending one of the Monmouth County Vocational School District Career Academies such as: Biotechnology High School, Academy of Allied Health and Science, High Technology High School, Communications High School or Marine Academy of Science and Technology, please be aware that the deadline for applications is December 11, 2015. The application process is very competitive and requires attendance at one of the information sessions (which start in October, 2015). Students may attend as many information sessions as needed to help with their decision; however, they may only apply to one school. Application procedures are posted and accessible at www.mcvsd.org .

We hope that you are all enjoying your summer! As expected, it seems to be flying by, so please be sure to take advantage of the nice weather, despite the extreme heat the last few days.
We just wanted to make you aware of a few items:
- All sports physicals are due by August 1st. Students who do not have an updated physical by the 1st may not be eligible to participate in a fall sport. If you have any questions, please contact us.
- An email was sent to all parents of 7th and 8th grade students in regards to Chromebook distribution. If you did not receive the email, please email Ms. Negro at email@example.com.
- 5th grade Orientation is scheduled for August 24th- more information will be provided in the coming weeks.
- Letters for ALM/Algebra were mailed out the week of July 13th. If you have questions about your child’s math placement, please contact us. ALM/Algebra contracts must be returned to the main office by August 1st.
- Math and language arts basic skill letters were mailed out today. If you have questions about basic skills, please contact the main office. Permission slips must be returned to the main office by July 29th.
- Please be sure to check our website (under the Communication tab) for any summer assignments and/or supply lists. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Thank you to those parents and community members who came out to support our Social Media Night. Our presenter, Chad Williams, provided us all with a great deal of information, and we hope that those of you who attended found the presentation as interesting as we did.
