You are going to become a real estate broker of the stars. But before you can begin selling everything under the sun (and above) you'll need to have some background on what you're trying to sell to your customers.Introduction | Task | Process | Resources | Evaluation | Conclusion
Use the internet, online encyclopedias and other reference materials to research the constellation you are assigned. Be sure to be thorough in your research and find all the necessary information to compose a sales brochure that will sell your constellation to any interested buyer.Introduction | Task | Process | Resources | Evaluation | Conclusion
Know the Property: a sketch of the constellation including the names, positions and colors of brightest stars. Are there deep sky objects like nebulas, galaxies, etc. in your constellation?Location! Location! Location! Three things to remember about selling any property. Where is the constellation found in the sky? What is the right ascension and declination of the alpha and beta stars?
Know the Neighborhood: describe whether the constellation is easily seen or very dim. Is part or all of it obscured by the Milky Way galaxy or is the surrounding sky relatively dark and clear?
When can you show the property to interested buyers? When is the constellation visible in the sky? Tell time of year, range of dates, when the constellation is visible during peak viewing hours.
Know the History of the Property: In your own words, tell the classical Greek/Roman mythology of the constellation and ONE other culture's story of the constellation? Your classical Greek or Roman story should include connections to a minimum of two other constellations as part of the story, so dig deep!
Who is your authority? Be sure to include a bibliography of sites you visited and books you used.
