Once again, the world failed to stop turning and the moon forgot to crash into the Sun when my second period Astronomy class got a ton of eggs to stand on their ends on a day that wasn't the equinox. Flaunting their balancing skills as only these intrepid scientists can, fourteen eggs were made to balance without the aid of gummy adhesives, once again proving that you can get this to work on any old day of the year. Senior Tina "Steady Hand" Caparotta was the first to trounce this age-old "Old Wive's Tale" by getting her egg to stand within the first minute of trying. Junior Mario"Sure Hand" Zapicchi performed the impossible and stood his egg on the pointy end. Following close on Tina's accomplishment was Senior Jon "Iron Grip" Kenner, David "Not a Quiver" Peterson, Lisa "Calm Lisa" Brown, Kristina "Look! It's Standing!" Solimeo, Bill "I Got It!" Weidman, Brad "Look Fast! Oooooo, Too Late." Horner, Crystal "I'll Try It On the Floor" Kierepka, and Laura "Don't Walk By Too Fast, It'll Fall Over" Malloy.
The spring record of 8 eggs stood up by Senior Robert Arcaro still stands!
